Two young men from the Budhlada area of Mansa district were shot dead in a targeted attack in southeast Edmonton, Canada. According to information shared by Harmanpreet, a close family relative (massi ka beta) of one of the victims, the family was informed about the incident shortly after it occurred. Harmanpreet confirmed that Ranveer Singh had no known personal disputes and was visiting Edmonton at the invitation of friends when the shooting took place. The family believes the attack was targeted but that Ranveer Singh may not have been the intended victim.

What Happened in Edmonton?

According to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), at around 1:43 am on Friday, police received reports of gunshots near 32 Street and 26 Avenue in southeast Edmonton.

When officers reached the spot, they found Gurdeep Singh and Ranveer Singh inside an SUV, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Police immediately attempted life-saving measures and called emergency medical services. Sadly, Ranveer Singh and Gurdeep Singh were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation has now been transferred to the EPS Homicide Section. Autopsies will be conducted in the coming days to confirm the exact cause of death.

Ranveer Singh had no enmity with anyone. He was a very simple and innocent boy. It appears the attackers were targeting someone else.”

Birthday Celebration Turned Into Tragedy

According to Gurdeep’s cousin, Arshdeep Singh, the group of friends was on their way to celebrate a birthday when unknown individuals suddenly began firing at the SUV.

The attack was so sudden that Ranveer Singh and the others had no time to react. After firing multiple shots, the attackers fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV.

  • Silverberry Road & 23 Avenue

between 2:00 pm on Thursday and 2:30 am on Friday, and who may have dashcam or CCTV footage, is urged to contact the police.
